So this is what you have been waiting for, well at least some of you. :) Carnival in Toledo was so much fun. The events started early in the week and gradually increased each day. It was such a great experience. I'm really glad that I was able to partake in this awesome cultural event. The nights were pretty long but the days were short, so here's the adventure:
Thursday night there was a parade that was geared more towards children. It was a lot of fun. There were blow up people causing caos. They had little plastic hammers and if you got too close they would get ya.
Grandma, why are you in the parade. This little old lady was just trying to walk up the street. I assume to her house, but the parade kinda got in her way, haha. This was one of the impromptu parades. This group just wandered around the streets for hours on Saturday night. There costumes were so detailed.

They had fireworks! Twice! Saturday and Sunday night. Sundays were way better, it was like the 4th of July.
The plaza near the cathedral.
And this is why they were all their.
The Cathedral is so beautiful!
Wait! Where's the police? Theres been a break-out!
We moved to the main plaza where the real party was getting ready to start.
There were a lot of street venders for Carnival.
The stage is behind the trees and there is a really good concert going on right now. I didn't know hardly any of the music, but it was a lot of fun!
Where's Dorthy?
This is my favorite picture of the night.
Group costumes were really big, there were chickens everywhere, clowns, penguins, frogs, and so many more. It was like a better version of Halloween.
Wow! What a mess. After Carnival there was trash everywhere. Why was I here at this hour in the morning you ask? Well, I wasn't ready to go home with the last bus at 4am, so I stayed out later. It ended up being fine the party went until 9am. I ended up wandering the streats and partying with friends and locals.
Carnival was such a great time. Monday morning I was pretty tired but had midterms to look forward too. Did I study you ask. Its Carnival, no pasa nada (no worries). I think I did fine. I still haven't got any back yet. I had Cadiz, to look forward too. Now that is another story.
Until Next Time,
why were they all there? who is the band?
ReplyDeleteand that definitely looks more exciting that halloween here.
what was your costume?
They were all there to celebrate carnival. I don't know who the band was. I was Mickey Friday night and the New York City Metro Saturday night.
