I had some vacation time at the end of April/beginning of May and I decided to travel to Belgium and Holland to visit my friends Dorien and Reuben. I met them in A Coruña. They were incredible hosts showing me there hometown and several cities nearby. Below you will find pictures and tales of my adventure. Enjoy.
Brussels:
Manneken Pis
The Court House
So many Chocolates! The Smurfs and Tin Tin are from Belgium.
The waffels were so good! I want another.
The Ping Pong Party.
Time to dance.
A town near Brussels.
Walking in Sint Genesius Rode, outside Brussels.
Amsterdam for Queen's Day:
Public bathroom's for men.
I want to live on a boat!
I miss my bicycle!
There were parties on boats.
This boat stalled under the bridge, on purpose. It had a smoke machine, lights, and a dj.
Back in Belgium:
We had fries! This was the best shop in town.
The main plaza at night, Brussels.
Leuven, Belgium:
A students town with many cyclists.
Apparently the shopping cart isn't part of the statue. I think its a nice addition.
The University Library.
Gent, Belgium:
The neuzen, nose's, were so good! Its a small purple candy filled with a fruity marmalade.
The medieval castle.
There were canal's through Gent.
One of the most beautiful Cathedral's I've ever been too! Sint-Baafskathedraal.
This beer is so good! Try it.
Reuben by a post box.
I had one of the best brownies in the world here!
This shop had such good mustard!
This beer is called Kwaak. It comes in a large special glass, 1.2L. I had to give my shoe as a deposit.
The noses from Gent modeled by Heidi and Dorien.
Back in Brussels:
We saw the Red Bull Soap-Box Race in Brussels!
There were so many cool cars! A great time and fun experience.
Some of the best graffiti we saw, with a human interpretation by Dorien and Reuben.
Delirium Chandelier
There were so many excellent beers in Belgium. I enjoyed trying them.
A huge thank you to Dorien, Reuben and their friends and family. For inviting me to stay with them in Belgium and for showing me their beautiful country.
Until Next Time,
